Surviving the Family Barbeque
Traveling with five kids four hours from home to visit family puts a strain on meal planning. We know fast food restaurants that have options that are vegan friendly. In some cases we have to get close with a vegetarian option. None the less it is a challenge and somewhat repetitive eating far away from home.
Visiting the local grocery store is a must as soon as we pull into town. Unfortunately we are faced with a new set of challenges. The mega grocery store in town that has a coffee shop, dry cleaners, flower shop, pharmacy, furniture and clothing selection offers very little in organic produce and even less in vegan food alternatives. It's obvious the consumer is not selecting conscious food in the small Kansas town. We were faced with finding food for a family barbeque.
